Cheryl Harrison, Ed.D.

Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS)

Cheryl Harrison, Ed.D. is an expert in leadership and management development. Harrison has a uniquely blended background in academia, social service and corporate settings. Her past corporate positions include director, organization and leadership development, human resources manager, corporate consultant and human resources manager at various Fortune 100 companies. Harrison’s work has centered on the design of leadership and management competency models specifically focused on the development of executive and high-potential employees for succession planning and organizational capacity building.

Harrison also has a significant background in e-learning. She is the co-creator of the first online and blended degree programs in organizational leadership at a small prestigious university in New England. Harrison has brought a vast range of experience in adult education, as faculty and administrator in both academic and corporate environments, including Tufts University, Quinnipiac University, Cigna, Aetna and NYNEX.

Harrison completed her doctoral work at Harvard University where she spent several years conducting management research on issues such as reengineering, leadership, succession planning, diversity and middle- and senior-level management development training. She also holds a master’s degree from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
